Following various rumours, and with the help of over 350 signatures protesting against possible closure, it is good to be able to report the following statement from the pub owners:
“The Crown at Capel will be under-going a beautiful and transformation refurbishment in the summer of 2016. Subject to successful planning applications the pub will close for approximately 5 weeks to carry out these works, we estimate that the pub will be fully refurbished and open to the public mid to late august of this year. Our vision is to create a community pub that all the locals will be proud to use. We will have a fantastic menu that will deliver all those traditional pub classic dishes we all love, an extensive product range that will include real ales, fine wines, premium spirits and and an interesting soft drinks offer. It is our intention to improve the pub with quality furnishings, new outdoor patio and garden seating, improved BBQ facilities, a brand new commercial kitchen and the addition of a fun area for children to play.”
