Sadly, Capel Youth Centre has had to close its doors, at least for the time being. Some years ago, Surrey County Council withdrew its grand funding and the staff it supplied to run the youth groups. Since then we have kept it going and invested in the infrastructure by using our savings, local fundraising, together with successfully graining grants from local organisations and developing services, plus conducted various drives over the years to increase membership numbers. We have now exhausted these funds and, combined with the currently very low numbers of young people using the Centre, have had to take the tough decision to cease the operation.

So it is goodbye, at lease for the present as the Charity is still active, but if anyone reading this feels inspire to ‘have a go’ at raising funds and brining in young people, please contact myself, Iain Murdoch by email IainCYC@claymoreinternation.com or 01306 712737

We would like to say a very special ‘thank you’ to Tina Black, also to Tara Hills the latest in a band of willing helpers who over the years have run the clubs, plus Nick Ward our Treasurer and Trustee, plus all the other committee members, their relations and friends who over the years have done so much for the young people in and around Capel.
