The Evergreens – December 2013

14th October saw 39 of us setting off from Capel for Skegness for a short break, and what great time we all had. Lincolnshire may be flat but what lovely little villages it has. We visited Louth a beautiful Georgian Market town, Boston where the main attraction is the Boston Stump and Lincoln who’s magnificent Cathedral is perched on top of a hill, so steep that many of us couldn’t contemplate climbing it. A truly lovely holiday.

We arrived back on the Friday ready to set off on Monday to Duxford. This was a trip that we had booked back in March but due to bad weather we had to postpone. This time however the weather was kinder (it was just bucketing down with rain) . When we arrived in Duxford half were dropped off to visit the Museum and the rest carried on to Cambridge where hopefully we would be able to visit some of the Colleges, which didn’t happen as they were closed to the public. So it meant a little retail therapy. We all had a really wonderful day.

Please note there will no meeting of the Evergreens on Mondays 23rd and 30th December.
