Grant from London Marathon
The Parish Council recently heard the excellent news that it has been awarded a grant for £23.000 by the London Marathon Charitable Trust towards an all-weather surface and some new equipment for the Children’s Playground at the Recreation Ground in Capel. The current bark surface is both labour intensive and costly to maintain so in the long term we are hoping that maintenance costs for the playground will be reduced quite considerably. If all goes according to plan the new wetpour surface could be laid early in 2014.
The Council is very grateful to the Trust for the money at this particular time when grants are hard to come by.
