Coffee Morning in Aid Of The Children’s Society

We will be holding our annual coffee morning in aid of The Children’s Society on Saturday 7th November in church from 10am to 12 noon. As in previous years, there will be CS Christmas card parks on sale, together with handmade cards for all occasions and Fair-trade products from Traidcraft. Naturally there will be refreshments and lots of lovely cakes and biscuits available to accompany them! Currently we raise approximately £1,000 in Capel every year for the society, which comes in the form of fundraising events such as this coffee morning, the Christingle service and collecting boxes which are held at home by a number of supporters.

If you would like to get involved or receive a collecting box please contact Suzanne Cole on 711449 or sac@ansford.me.uk

Flix In The Stix – The Second Best Exotic Marigold Hotel

The Second Best Exotic Marigold Hotel

You’ll find all the old actors and characters from the first film are here and it is nice to be in their company for another two hours. India looks ravishing: Totally sanitised and with the locals showing proper deference to the Raj. The colour and music are lovely.

As the Best Exotic Marigold Hotel has only a single remaining vacancy – posing a rooming predicament for two fresh arrivals – Sonny pursues his expansionist dream of opening a second hotel.  The film is directed by John Madden and stars Judi Dench, Bill Nighy, Maggie Smith and all the usual faces.

This film will be shown on Tuesday 7th July at Capel Village Memorial Hall.  Doors open at 7.30pm for an 8pm showing.  Tickets are priced at £4, cash, payable at the door.

We look forward to seeing you and then we take a 2 month break with the next film being shown in October.  We still have to have to be told what films will be available for the autumn season, but once we know the list for the next 3 months will be circulated together with the dates.
