Digging up The Street, Capel

As anyone living in or travelling through Cape! village will know the cable laying works which started in January 2012 with an end date of March 2012 are still on-going. The lack of communication about what is happening and when the works will be complete is extremely frustrating for everyone particularly for those people living near the two current areas of digging.

I have recently spoken to Biffa regarding the matter and I am waiting for them to give me an end date to what they are calling ‘making corrections to the pipe they have already laid’.

Poppy Appeal 2012

Many thanks to all those who collected, and gave money, to the Poppy Appeal in November. This year Capel raised £ 1,520.74 which is a fantastic achievement with the poor weather and the recession. The target was to raise £42 million across the country to help the RBL’s work with those that served in the Forces, or are the dependant of someone who has served. In the UK around 9 million people are eligible for support and nearly £ 1.7m a week helping those in the greatest need. Stuart Cole

As we didn’t have a trip last month, there isn’t a lot to report. However, I would like this opportunity to thank, on behalf of the Evergrees, all the people involved in organising The Old Friends Christmas Paarty. We all had a wonderful time and very much appreciate all the hard work involved.

So thank you all very much indeed!
