Summer At Scott-Broadwood School

What a busy summer term we are having at Scott-Broadwood school. Both bases have been learning about minibeats so we have been pond dipping, watching caterpillars grow and turn into butterflies and learn to fly. We had papier mache bugs and learnt about minibeats that come out at night. It is also the term for fairs, fetes, summer pageants and rose queens. The maypoles are out and the children are learning some traditional country dances. Now the children are thinking about journeys, holidays and different types of transport; and we are all enjoying the warm sunny weather.

It is also a term for thinking about changes, as we say goodbye to our older children who are moving on to other schools and saying welcome to the young children who are joining us in September. Teachers are beginning to think forward to the next school year – different children in their classes and exciting topics to prepare for. Mrs Burton’s life will change as she moves into motherhood and we wish her well in this new venture.
